Nicole Lynn is moving on up in the sports industry.
As previously reported by AfroTech, Lynn is Jalen Hurts’ agent. She secured the opportunity by shooting her shot to represent the Philadelphia Eagles star.
“I know the agent world in the NFL, and all sports, is very male-dominated,” Hurts told Sports Illustrated. “But Nicole was really on top of her stuff. She was prepared. She knew what she was talking about. She was hungry. And she was determined. And I feel that determination like that never rests. Once you come across such a determined individual, that just hits me a little different.”
Sports Business Journal reports that Lynn has been promoted to Klutch Sports Group’s “first President of Football to lead the division which represents more than 60 NFL player clients and employs five NFLPA-certified player agents.”
Along with the announcement, Lynn is also marked as the first Black woman NFL agent to represent a top 3 NFL Draft prospect. She represents Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who was the No. 3 overall selection back in 2019.
While the 2023 NFL Draft is on the horizon starting on April 27, Lynn represents some of the top prospects as well, including Alabama Crimson Tide’s Will Anderson and Texas Longhorns’ Bijan Robinson, the outlet notes.
In February, Lynn became the first Black female agent to represent an NFL quarterback in the Super Bowl, as previously shared by AfroTech.
With her experience, work ethic, as well as her growing clientele, and accolades, Lynn has positioned herself in sports management as a powerful force.
“Any time someone thinks of an agent, they’re gonna think of me,” Lynn said, according to NBC News. “The first person that’s gonna come to their mind is a Black woman. I’m the Jerry Maguire — that is who I am.”
